TREASURER

 

Our client, Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL, a regional company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking a proactive and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Treasurer.  The role is responsible for eight (8) territories.  The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager, Eastern Caribbean and will be based in Barbados at the company’s corporate headquarters.

 

The Role

The Treasurer will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Treasury & Banking division’s operations to maintain consistent effectiveness and efficiency, while coordinating work assignments and offering strategic leadership to a team of twelve (12) professionals.
  • Reviewing and approving intercompany payroll and bank reconciliations
  • Overseeing electronic cash receipt and cash disbursement processing and accounting.
  • Overseeing daily cash positioning activities including managing daily liquidity, cash position reconciliation and bank reporting.
  • Managing excess operating cash to obtain optimum interest revenue.
  • Negotiating and maintaining short term credit facility with banks.
  • dentifying, monitoring and mitigating financial risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange and credit risks.
  • Overseeing banking relationships, account structures and payment processing.
  • Driving automation and technology integration to streamline treasury processes.
  • Maintaining an efficient system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities and provide support for regulatory reporting.

 

The Candidate

The Treasurer should:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.
  • Possess an ACCA, CIMA, CMA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Have a minimum of 8-10 years in a corporate treasury function and/or progressive financial leadership.
  • Have sound critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively lead, communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels and work independently on projects.
  • Possess strong abilities in people management, strategic thinking and effective delegation.
  • Have a proactive mindset to problem solving.
  • Possess written and oral communication, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Be proficient in the use of the various components of Microsoft Office Suite; namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Be willing to travel to regional and international locations.

 

A MBA/MSc. in finance and/or experience in cash management from a commercial bank would be an asset
