Our Client, Co-operators General Insurance Co. Ltd. is seeking to recruit a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead this organization through a dynamic and evolving insurance landscape. This is an opportunity for a seasoned insurance executive to assist in shaping the strategy, driving innovation and delivering sustainable growth while building trust with stakeholders and fostering a high-performance culture.
The Role
- Strategic Leadership: Working with the Board to define and lead the execution of the company’s vision.
- Operational Excellence: Overseeing underwriting, claims, actuarial, reinsurance, sales and customer service functions with efficiency and innovation.
- Financial Stewardship: Ensuring robust financial planning, capital allocation and shareholder value creation.
- Regulatory & Risk Compliance: Championing corporate governance, regulatory alignment and enterprise risk management.
- Talent Development: Inspiring and developing a high-performing team, focusing on transparency and inclusion.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Representing the company with regulators, investors, partners and the public, while advancing the Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
The Candidate
- A minimum 15 years of insurance industry experience, with at least 5–7 years in senior executive or C-suite roles.
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field; professional insurance qualifications (FCII, ACII, AIIC) are preferred.
- Proven leadership across multiple product lines in general insurance.
- Strong financial acumen and expertise in underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and insurance technology.
- Progressive leadership with a track record of driving innovation.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Agile mindset with the ability to lead through change and uncertainty.
- Commitment to leadership, corporate governance, and stakeholder alignment.
