Production Manager

 

Our client, DigiLabels Inc, a fully digital printing company in Barbados is seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to oversee their end-to-end label printing operations and drive production performance in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional with experience in digital label printing and packaging production to lead a skilled team, optimise manufacturing processes, and support the company's growth objectives.

The Role

The Production Manager reports to the Operations Director and will be responsible for:

•    Planning and managing production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
•    Overseeing digital printing and finishing operations, including varnishing, foiling, die-cutting, slitting, inspection, and packing.
•    Monitoring production key performance indicators, including throughput, waste percentage, uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness.
•    Maintaining quality standards and compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, FSMS, and customer requirements.
•    Leading, coaching, and developing production and warehouse teams.
•    Driving continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
•    Managing equipment maintenance and supporting capital investment planning.
•    Preparing daily/weekly production reports (output, scrap, downtime) and communicating performance to senior management.
•    Participating in operations meetings and contributing to forecasting and capacity planning.
•    Serving as the point of contact for escalations related to production delays or quality issues.

The Candidate

The Production Manager should:

•    Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Printing Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
•    Have a minimum of five years’ experience in label production management (digital printing preferred).
•    Understand digital press workflows, including Domino and Xeikon platforms.
•    Have experience with finishing equipment such as die-cutters, foil units, varnishers, and slitters.
•    Be knowledgeable of colour management systems including Pantone, ICC profiling, and spectrophotometer usage.
•    Be proficient with LabelTraxx or similar MIS/ERP systems.
•    Possess strong leadership and people management capabilities.
•    Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
•    Be an analytical thinker with proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•    Have experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
