CAREER OPPORTUNITY - Director of Operations
Apes Hill Resort Inc., a world-class golf resort and private residential community in Barbados, is seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to lead the delivery of an exceptional lifestyle experience for its members and guests.
This pivotal role will oversee all operational departments, including food & beverage outlets, culinary operations, reservations, guest services, villa operations, property maintenance, housekeeping, and golf operations.
The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, foster seamless collaboration between departments, and ensure members and guests enjoy an unparalleled luxury experience.
The Role
The Director of Operations reports to the Executive Chairman and will be responsible for:
- Strategic Planning: Aligning departmental goals with overall resort objectives and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Team Leadership: Coaching and developing department heads, fostering accountability and building a culture of service excellence.
- Operational Leadership: Overseeing daily operations across restaurants, guest services, property management, and golf operations.
- Financial Management: Developing budgets, optimising profitability, and analysing financial performance.
- Guest Experience: Implementing service standards, monitoring feedback and ensuring exceptional member and guest satisfaction.
- Golf Operations: Collaborating with the Director of Golf & Golf Operations to manage course operations, pro shop, and tournaments.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and legal standards.
The Candidate
The Director of Operations should:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ progressive leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
- Have demonstrated experience in managing multi-department operations in a resort or club environment.
- Possess strong financial management and budgeting experience.
- Be proficient in the use of various components of Microsoft Office Suite; namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and leadership abilities.
- Be flexible to work varying hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Be willing to travel overseas.
