, ,CAREER OPPORTUNITY - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Our client, The Barbados Agency for Micro Enterprise Development Ltd. (FundAccess) is seeking to recruit a strategic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Business Development Officer.
The Role
The Business Development Officer reports to the Senior Business Development Officer and will be responsible for:
- Arranging meetings with clients.
- Completing needs assessments with clients to establish the best solutions and recommendations based on their bespoke needs.
- Documenting calls and meetings with clients and submitting reports to management.
- Conducting various business and market analyses to establish current state and potential for development and making appropriate recommendations.
- Assisting clients in the compilation and completion of necessary financial and market information to process a variety of requests for financial assistance.
- Providing support to clients through facilitation of marketing plans, coaching sessions and making recommendations for other relevant workshops and/or interventions.
- Facilitating and/or coordinating training in areas such as but not limited to record keeping, cash management, costing and pricing, personal and business financial management.
- Facilitating the design, development and application of special projects for the company.
- Participating in accounts receivables management activities by engaging clients in the settlement of accounts in arrears.
- Representing the organisation at various civic and community functions and events to enhance the organisation’s image and to develop new business.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate should:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Accounting or a related field.
- Possess at least three to five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Have proven experience writing proposals.
- Possess excellent research and sales skills.
- Have exceptional data analysis capabilities and negotiation skills.
- Have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience in client facing services, sales, business development or marketing would be an asset.
